VENECIA at the Shaker Bridge
Theater
August
14-16, 21-23 and 28-30
In this rich little jewel of a comedy, the sweltering streets of a
remote town in Argentina are the setting for a magical transformation.
The old "madam" of a brothel, her three "girls" and their best customer
are all trapped by their poverty with little hope for romance or a
better life. But the liveliness of their humor and imaginations spark a
change in their lives that none of them could have anticipated. The old
madam is blind and near death, haunted by the loss of the one man she
had loved in her youth. Her last wish is to travel to Venice to be with
him again before she dies. A plan is formed, the city with streets of
water is found, and the people who have become her family find
themselves on a fantastical journey. All shows at 8 pm. Special summer
ticket price: $23. (website)

The New Village Kiosk is up!
Our thanks to Eagle Scout Kevin Kosiorek for designing, building and
installing (with the help of the Enfield Boy Scouts) the attractive
information kiosk in the village, right next to the municipal parking
lot. Lots of space for posters, information, events, meetings. This is a
great addition to the village! The hanging baskets are adorning the lamp
posts and the planters and town gardens look great! Thanks to all, the
EVA Design Team and the Enfield Gardeners, for beautifying our village!
